This web site is where Chad Hanna (and any associates) will be exploring various aspects of web technology that have been expanding while he was away dealing with www.FamilyHistoryOnline.net and the eventual transfer of some of the data from family history societies and others to Find My Past (they prefer 'findmypast').

Current investigations

Most of these will be based on using Jooomla! but there will also be some work with Perl, but this shared server will limit what I can do in that direction.

Berkshire Family History Society

I'm one of the two web masters for the Berkshire Family History Society web site, where I've written several Perl programs to create web pages for:

Members' Interests created from a list of members' interests and the current membership list
Birth Brief index containing information from GEDCOM files submitted by members both past and present
Library Catalogue containing information extracted from an SQL Server database containing a Microlib library catalogue with an awkward arrangement of catalogues and odd keywords

I also maintain the Bookshop pages containing information extracted from a Access 97 database using an inherited Visual Basic 6 program that requires occasional maintenance.
